Warriors Trade Johnson to North Iowa

Nov 17, 2023

OKLAHOMA CITY–The Oklahoma Warriors have traded goaltender Dylan Johnson to the North Iowa Bulls in exchange for two tender slots.

Johnson, an 18-year-old from Dallas, Texas, spent the latter half of last season and the beginning of this season with the Warriors. He made 14 regular season appearances with Oklahoma and amassed a 9-2-2 record. Johnson, a member of the 2023 Robertson Cup championship team, won two games in the 2023 playoffs as the backup to Daniel Duris.

Johnson began his NAHL career with the Janesville Jets. This will be his first opportunity to play in the central division. North Iowa is on the road against division leader Minot on Friday and Saturday.

A tender agreement is a contract, signed between organization and player, which gives a team the rights to that player for the upcoming season. Each team is allotted a finite number of tender slots, and they can be traded between teams. If an Oklahoma-tendered player elects to join the North American Hockey League, he would report to the Warriors.

The Oklahoma Warriors are home against the Corpus Christi on Friday, November 17 and Saturday, November 18. The team will wear specialty jerseys to benefit The Toby Keith Foundation and OK Kids Korral. Puck drops at 7:15 p.m. at Blazers Ice Centre in Oklahoma City.
