Warriors Sweep Mudbugs Behind Career Night from Bartoszkiewicz

Apr 1, 2024

OKLAHOMA CITY–Owen Bartoszkiewicz’s best game as an Oklahoma Warrior fueled them to a 4-1 victory over the Shreveport Mudbugs at Blazers Ice Centre on Saturday.

Bartoszkiewicz stopped 46 of the 47 shots he faced, a new Warriors career high. After being pulled in the first period of his most recent start, the 21-year-old’s bounce-back performance led the Warriors to a weekend sweep of their biggest rival.

William Ahlrik, who scored the game-winning goal late on Friday, opened the scoring in the first period on Saturday. Drew Sutton added a power play goal in the second. Shreveport struck early in the third, but the score stayed put until late strikes by Anthony Cafarelli and Louie Kamienski put the game away.

With the victory, the Warriors are back on a three-game winning streak and have earned seven of a possible eight points on the current homestand.

The regular season ends with a home series against the New Mexico Ice Wolves on Friday, April 5 and Saturday, April 6. Puck drop is 7:15 p.m. both nights at Blazers Ice Centre. Fans can purchase tickets at www.oklahomawarriors.com/tickets.
