OKLAHOMA CITY–The Oklahoma Warriors made a significant trade to acquire Corpus Christi IceRays captain Anthony Cafarelli on Monday.

Cafarelli leads Corpus Christi with 14 goals and 31 points in 39 games this season. The 20-year-old forward from Middleton, Mass. is in his second and final year at the North American Hockey League level. Cafarelli has 27 career goals, all with the IceRays.

The veteran bolsters the Warriors’ lineup for the home stretch with 21 regular season games remaining. Oklahoma looks to make a jump up to the top four in the standings and host a first-round playoff series.

Oklahoma has made multiple acquisitions via trades since the holiday break. In addition to Cafarelli, Louie Kamienski, Isaac Flatley, Geno McEnery, and Brandon Reller have all joined the group for the second half of the season.

In return, the Warriors dealt rookie forward Zach Homer, a 2024 tender slot, and a 2024 second-round pick to the IceRays. The Warriors wish Zach all the best in Corpus Christi and look forward to welcoming Cafarelli to Oklahoma City shortly.
