Governor Stitt to Declare Oklahoma Warriors Day, Drop Ceremonial Puck on Friday

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.–The honorable J. Kevin Stitt, Governor of Oklahoma, will declare Friday, September 22, 2023 Oklahoma Warriors Day in the state.

That night, at the Warriors’ home opener inside Blazers Ice Centre, the governor will drop the ceremonial first puck. The state-proclaimed day, believed to be a first for a North American Hockey League franchise, will honor the 2023 Robertson Cup championship-winning team. The Oklahoma Warriors won the league title in May, concluding their first season in Oklahoma City.

In addition to the governor’s appearance, fans will have the opportunity to take photos with the Robertson Cup, which will be on display throughout the evening. There will also be a free postgame skate with Warriors players immediately following the game.

Mayor David Holt is also set to proclaim Oklahoma Warriors Day for the city of Oklahoma City on the same date.
