Warriors Name Erik Konwinski Director of Broadcasting & Communications

Jun 1, 2022

Oklahoma City – The Oklahoma Warriors announced Wednesday that they have hired Erik Konwinski as the team’s Director of Broadcasting and Communications ahead of the 2022-23 season. Konwinski will join the Warriors as they start a new chapter of the team’s history in Oklahoma City.

“I’m extremely honored to be joining such a fantastic franchise,” said Konwinski. “There are so many possibilities and opportunities to explore in a new place, and from the first time that I talked with Mary Anne (Choi, Owner), I knew that the Warriors was the place for me. I’m more than excited to become a part of the culture here, and I have been fortunate enough to have tons of support along the way to making this a reality. I’m forever grateful to Shawn Bednard, Aaron Cooney, so many more in the Erie community, and of course, my family back in Pennsylvania and Michigan for allowing me to develop in my dream career and providing advice when I needed it.”

Konwinski began his professional work in hockey as a Media Relations and Broadcast Intern for the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League for the 2019-20 and 2021-22 seasons while also wearing the headset as the Play-by-Play Broadcaster for the Lake Erie Bighorns of the USPHL from 2019-2022.

“Hockey may be the best game on the planet, but it’s more than that too,” said Konwinski. “That’s what I love so much about the work that I get to do, whether through the headset or in the community, it’s about sharing something with others and trying to inspire them. In some ways, everything we do is history, and I can’t wait to share it with all the Warriors fans- old and new. I couldn’t be more thrilled for this new adventure,” expressed Konwinski on his excitement for the upcoming season.
