OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Warriors are pleased to announce judges for Saturday’s tailgate cook-off contest, headed by former NHL defenseman Matt Donovan.

Donovan, the only NHL player to have been born, raised and trained in Oklahoma City recently returned to his hometown following the conclusion of the 2022-23 Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) season, where he played professional hockey for Adler Mannheim in Germany.

Donovan will be part of a panel of three judges which also includes his father, Larry, on behalf of Blazers Ice Centre, and Wade Pruitt, representing the Oklahoma City Youth Hockey Association, to determine the best tailgating food made at the Inaugural Oklahoma Warriors Tailgate Party.

All are welcome to join the two-day tailgate party from 3-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, but must have three tasting samples available for judging at 5:30 p.m. Saturday to be eligible for the chance to win two Oklahoma Warriors season tickets to the 2023-24 season.

Outside beverages will not be permitted, and a $1-off happy hour will accompany the tailgate until 6 p.m. when $4 beer will be available for the game.
