February 10 Weekend Preview: Post-Trade Deadline Warriors Look Toward Continued Success

Feb 10, 2023

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Warriors made trades prior to the February 6 deadline to add defenseman Domenick Evtimov and goaltender Dylan Johnson to the roster heading into the final third of the 2022-23 season schedule.

A few transactions moved two players from the team, and saw two others join in their stead.

At the beginning of the week, second-year Warriors defenseman Nick Comfort was traded to the Central Division’s Aberdeen Wings. Comfort was tendered by the Wichita Falls Warriors in the 2021-22 season and played in six games that season. Comfort played in 21 games with Oklahoma this season and recorded 3 points.

Goaltender Niklas Erickson was traded to the Minnesota Wilderness after playing in one game for the Warriors. Erickson earned a win in his sole start for Oklahoma, stopping 20 of 23 against the Corpus Christi IceRays January 28, 2023.

Evtimov joins the Warriors from the Fairbanks Ice Dogs where he provided physicality and finish, having played 42 games and registered 19 (7G+12A) points from the back end.

Johnson returns to the Warriors after being traded to the Janesville Jets following Oklahoma’s training camp. While a member of the Jets, the Dallas native went 4-5 through nine starts and earned a .902 save percentage.

The Warriors face off at 7:15 p.m. against the Odessa Jackalopes Friday, February 10 and Saturday February 11 from Blazers Ice Centre. Oklahoma goes into action riding an 11-game win streak, and having won the first six head-to-head meetings against Odessa this season.
